With fellow countrymen David Ferrer and Rafael Nadal battling it out Sunday, Spain was all smiles while getting to watch (…not one but two) local products in the 2011 Monte Carlo Masters final.

Now the people of Spain wanted both players to have a good showing, of course. But given the performance history of each participant,  it was well understood before the match even began as to who would win the title.

Who would that be? …The heavily favored and almost invincible (…virtually UNBEATABLE), world number 1, Rafael Nadal. That’s who icon wink Clay Master Rafael Nadal Beats Ferrer And Wins 2011 Monte Carlo Masters .

And they were 100% correct.

Now it wasn’t a brutal mauling by any means.  From playing together so often, these guys really understand each other’s game pretty well.  So that said, the match was a close one (…even a nail biter at times).

But the clay master ultimately prevailed against his former Davis Cup teammate and hitting partner, David Ferrer, in straight sets, 6-4, 7-5.

And though it was a narrow margined victory by Rafa’s standards, a win is a win.  But in route to winning this tennis tournament,  he must have been listening to a little “Thriller” by the late king of pop, Michael Jackson.

Because after his win today, the Spaniard continued to demonstrate his tennis dominance by snatching his 37th consecutive victory on the clay surface, an accomplishment very similar to the best-selling album’s king-like reign at number 1 on the music charts for a mind-boggling 37 weeks.

Oh, and since we’re talking about numbers, this is Nadal’s 44th career title and his 19th at a Masters event. Not bad, huh? Maybe he could give Tiger some tips on how to get another green jacket icon wink Clay Master Rafael Nadal Beats Ferrer And Wins 2011 Monte Carlo Masters .

With the NBA playoffs starting today, I’ll finish off by saying (…just like the Black Mamba’s jersey number), this cold-blooded “Clay Killer” is only a mere 24 years old! WOW!

Many wouldn’t even say he’s reached his prime yet icon smile Clay Master Rafael Nadal Beats Ferrer And Wins 2011 Monte Carlo Masters . Watch out ATP, I think the best is truly yet to come from this kid.  What do you think?

Have a great day guys and an even better game,
